When Randy and Kathy’s 15-year-old, 85-pound Irish Setter crossed the Rainbow Bridge in April 2020, they could tell their 54-pound red Setter rescue, Sorcha, was grieving her companion. The entire family wanted a second dog, and they decided to “downsize” to an English Setter.
Willie is a 10 year young handsome orange boy who retired from hunting when his elderly owner could no longer care for him. He’s a chill boy who rides well in the car and is being adopted by his foster family in San Antonio, TX.
Bandit Bell is a 12 year young ES boy who is retired from hunting where he lived on a ranch in TX. He has now found his furever home.
Luc is a 10 month old bundle of field ES youngster energy. He will need a home with a secure and interesting fenced yard. Luc is being adopted by his foster family in Henderson NV.
Luna (6) and Bowie (8.5) were surrendered by their family in Utah because they are moving abroad and couldn’t take them. SWESR is very grateful to a foster home in Grand Junction CO that is keeping them together. Their intake vetting will be completed soon. Check back for updates!
Nelson is a 3 year young boy who was abandoned in TX and SWESR was contacted by a good Sam to help him. He’s in a foster home in San Antonio and is good with other dogs.
Allie is a 12 year young big girl who must have had a very physical life before rescue and is now dealing with arthritis issues. But she doesn’t let that stop her from her love of hunting in the large and interesting fenced yard in her TX Hill Country foster home. She is housetrained and great with dogs and cats. Pearl is a 10.5 year youngster that was rescued from a hunting ranch in TX. This little pocket girl is loving life after the hunting ranch with her foster Mom in the Hill Country while her vetting is completed. She’s a pocket Setter that is so affectionate, this is clearly the life she was meant for. She is under evaluation for a SWESR adopter that has helped with other TX hunting ranch dogs. Molle is a 5 year young busy ES girl that was surrendered in Texas after her owner passed away. She is in a foster home in the Hill Country for a month while a skin infection is treated and then she will be spayed, recovered and on her way to a new home with a previous adopter in the Houston area.
