Scooby

Scooby

***Scooby-Doo is READY for ADOPTION and wants to know “Where Are You?”***

Scooby is a sweet and goofy four year young typical field English Setter who is now ready for his furever home. He is house and crate trained and would love nothing better than to be your lap dog. He has fairly good recall and comes to his name.  Unlike his cartoon counter-part, he is looking for a calmer home- and an adopter who will continue to show him the joys of being a house dog, he already loves being inside with his people.

Scooby was rescued from a hunting ranch and he is not a candidate for hunting because loud noises are really scary for him, guns and thunderstorms. He does need a Setter interesting yard that is at least medium in size and with at least 5′ no-climb fences. He needs plenty of room to really stretch out and run and he enjoys self-exercising, hunting birds, squirrels, bunnies, basically anything that moves. He is good with other dogs but no cats. He doesn’t play with other dogs, we don’t know if that will come with time or not, for now he is all about running and enjoying freedom from the hunting kennels. He loves laying in the shallow end of the pool at his foster home and he can squeeze himself into a large water bowl. He loves everyone he meets and we are only recommending him for homes with kids 10+ years old because he is active and has never lived with young children.

Scooby is a Velcro boy who wants to please, he enjoys car rides, he will be joyful when you come home, and he will be a loyal friend and companion for life.

Could Scooby be the dog you’re looking for?

Scooby is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and is neutered, up to date on vaccines and tests, microchipped, and on heartworm preventative. He is wearing a Fi GPS collar that counts his many daily steps and can transfer with him to his new home.
