Norman

Norman

Norman is an active 7 year old male Bench English Setter. His owner died a few months ago and the wife is unable to give him the exercise he needs due to her physical disability

Norman would do best with a male owner and possibly another same size active dog. Since Norman lost his male owner (and much needed exercise) he has started bullying and thus intimidating the other older English Setter in the household. So he will do best in a home with an active man who can provide leadership and daily exercise and training.

Norman is leash reactive (lunges and barks) at other dogs when out walking. He is very strong and would require experienced and consistent training in this area.

He is used to a quiet home where someone was home most of the time with no children or smaller pets and is looking for a similar type home. He has never lived with cats and is not a candidate for a home with cats.

He is house trained and when inside he is happy to lay on the couch and loves to have his head in your lap. Furniture privileges are very important for Norman. He does bark if he sees activity outside the window, but otherwise he is calm inside when he has plenty of outside exercise and stimulation.

Outside Norman is active for a middle aged bench boy and requires a home with a secure fenced (at least 4 feet tall) yard that is large enough to run and interesting to explore. He is used to daily walks and would like this in his new home too.

Norman is neutered, up to date on vaccines and tests, and microchipped. He is in a home in Denver, CO.
