Nat-Cho-Average Dog! Let’s Tac-o-bout him 😊
Presenting 2-3 year young, handsome, regal and amazing Nacho. Pictures don’t do him justice; he is a leggy, stunning boy, strong and solid for his current 53 lbs. Our first thought upon meeting him is possibly some Ryman in his lineage.
He was picked up by a Good Samaritan in South Texas who sought out rescue after looking for an owner for a month and realizing he couldn’t be an apartment dog.
Nacho is strong and takes a couple of minutes to stop pulling on leash so he’ll need a fit person that is committed to his training. He is a typical high energy field ES with a high escape drive and strong prey drive, so he will need an experienced foster or adopter. Nacho will require a 6’ fence and another friendly dog living in the home. We’ve not had him in a home with children but think teenage because of his escape drive and activity level. He is crate trained and house trained. He has not shown aggression toward cats when cat tested, but has not lived with cats that we are aware of.
Nacho is going to be best with someone that is not gone for long stretches of time. In typical ES fashion, he wants to be with his person and will have some mild anxiety when you are leaving. He is afraid of loud noises and it takes him a minute to warm up to new people. The Good Sam was very loving and caring towards Nacho, but we believe he may have been handled harshly by someone prior to that. Our soft, sensitive breed just needs a kind and patient leader.
Nacho is looking for a foster or adopter with the patience to teach him to trust and would prefer a work or stay at home person. He is neutered and fully vaccinated.
