Barbara Woof-Woof Interviews SWESR Luna, Field Setter, who is looking for her forever home.
BWW: Luna, thanks for sitting down with us today so your public can get to know you better. You sit so beautifully!
Luna: Thank you, Barbara, yes, I do very well with Sit and Stay commands. I’m also house-trained and am not a picky eater.
BWW: You do look slightly … Rubenesque.
Luna: I am a full-figured, 6-year-old female. I celebrate my curves, but if my veterinarian really thinks I should become more svelte, I’m happy to go on long walks or run around a backyard to get my exercise. I also adore my plush toys, and it’s such fun when I discover one of them has a squeaker!
BWW: On first meeting, I have to say you remind me of Princess Diana Dog. Forgive me, I know we shouldn’t judge by physical appearance alone, but you are quite stunning. Yet you come across as shy, with your side glances and submissive nature.
Luna: Well, thank you for the complement. I am a fine example of a Blue Belton Field Setter, I have to say. As for being shy, I am sensitive, and I need to get to know someone before showing them my full personality. I can be quite silly and goofy when I know you well. For example, I fully celebrate my human’s return, whether they’ve been gone for minutes, such as if they leave me in the car—not something I like—or if they’ve been gone for days and days (which I’ve been told is really only an hour while they run an errand). Reunions are happy times!
BWW: Luna, if you were a tree, what sort of tree would you be?
Luna: That is a truly ridiculous question. I suppose I would be a willow tree, as the branches mimic my long, flowing feathered fur. Also, any tree is fine if I can lie under it, enjoying basking in the sun, then seeking some shade.
BWW: What is important to you, Luna? What are you looking for out of life?
Luna: Barbara, I have known the comfort of a good home, and I have known the impermanence of fostering. I’m ready to settle down with good people who will let me snuggle with them on the sofa, who will welcome every day with me as I will with them with a wagging tail and joyful heart! It’s important to me that my people are with me and not off working all the time. I’m a true people-pleaser, although little people, such as young children, may be too much for my sensitive soul. My person will be my whole world, and I want them to champion me: my loving, playful, smart, silly, wonderful self!
BWW: Beautifully said! Viewer, if you would like to welcome Luna into your family fold, please contact SWESR to express your interest. Email info@swesr.org
