Forrest – In a Foster-to-Adopt Home

Forrest – In a Foster-to-Adopt Home

Forrest is a friendly, loyal 7 year old English Setter boy. He is a velcro dog that will bond quickly with his person. He is house and crate-trained. His energy level is typical for a field ES, and he requires a securely fenced yard to run and explore. Forrest has some anxiety issues and he needs a quieter home without children and a person that will go slow with him in their expectations.

Forrest is friendly around other dogs, although he is not fond of pushy dogs and prefers companions that are a little bit introverted, like himself. He is focused on his people and would do fine as an only dog so he can get lots of attention. He’ll need a person that isn’t gone from home for more than 4 hours at a time. He is friendly and curious with cats.

Forrest will self-exercise in his yard, exploring the perimeter and looking for birds. He is happiest outside with his human watching him. He also likes toys and playing in the baby pool. Forrest would like a family that will allow him to snuggle with them on the furniture.

Forrest does get anxious during thunderstorms. He also needs to eat grain-free food to prevent food allergies. Typical for an English Setter, Forrest is an escape artist and will take advantage of open doors and gates to take off on an unsupervised run! His future family should take precautions with doors in order to keep him safe.

Forrest is currently living in the home of our trainer in Dallas where his anxieties are under assessment. Here’s what the trainer says after a couple of days ~ “Forest is an amazing dog! I like this guy a lot”. Forrest is available to foster, foster-to-adopt or adopt and his lucky person will have the opportunity to continue working with our trainer to ensure you and Forrest succeed together. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations.
