Dozer

Dozer

Hey ya’ll, my name is Dozer.  I’m a Munsterlander/Llewellyn cross and am a big boy, weighing in at just over 70 pounds. I consider myself real lucky to be a part of the SWESR group after my dad passed away and I was just too much for my mom to handle. I am in a great foster home where my foster parents work from home and I get to hang out with a 5 year old Lab brother. We get along great and even sometimes run, play and wrestle together. I am really good at sharing toys; my Kong is my favorite.

My foster parents say I am a joy to walk on a leash as I don’t pull and I heel very well. I also come when called and respond best to a whistle. I know some basic commands such as stay and come and I try to sit, but that one’s hard for me because you see as a 10 year young boy who spent most of my life outside, I’ve got some arthritis in my rear legs. I would love to have furniture privileges in my forever home and my favorite thing to do is hang out with my people, so if you don’t have other dogs, that’s OK, I’ll be fine as an only dog, but I can also get along with other large to medium size dogs too.

I do need a 6′ fence to keep me safe and you might need to keep an eye on gates and doors as you know us Setters do like to explore.  Speaking of exploring, I sure do like to see what’s on the kitchen counter and it’s right at my eye level. I’ve even been known to put my feet up and try to snag a snack, but I am easily corrected with a stern “NO”.

I am heartworm negative, microchipped, crate trained and house trained.  I am also up to date on all my vaccinations and am neutered. I am in a foster home in Phoenix, AZ. I would sure like to have a forever home real soon – are you looking for a big love bug to share your life?
