Dogs that are Just Rescued, Under Evaluation, Available Soon or with a Foster-to-Adopt Home

The following English Setters are not yet ready for adoption, but we will be posting more information about them soon. Please check back soon and often to follow these dogs on their rescue journey.

Elise – Just Rescued

Elise is a sweet 16 month old female ES who made her way from West Texas to our Advisory Vet in North Texas. She’ll be spayed, tested and brought up to date on vax before she goes to her foster in the DFW area. She’s shy with other dogs, high prey drive for cats and looking for a person that will be patient and earn her trust.

Romeo – Just Rescued

Romeo is a 5 year old Irish Red & White Setter from a hoarding situation in Colorado. He was transferred to SWESR because we have an approved foster home with IS/ISRW experience nearby. His Vet care is underway, and he is decompressing from living in horrible conditions for a couple of years and learning to trust again. Check back for updates!

Sherlock – Just Rescued

Sherlock was rescued from a shelter in Texas. He has Setter feathers and loves people but clearly there’s some other breed(s) responsible for this stunning and sweet boy. He should weigh 60 lbs and he is balanced and calm and is good with dogs and cats. Sadly Sherlock tested heartworm positive so his treatment and recovery will take at least 4 months so he won’t be ready for adoption until February 2026. Check back for updates!

Tucker – Just Rescued

Tucker is housetrained and used to living in a home with his people, including having furniture privileges. At 8 he is still very active outside and will need a home with a secure and interesting fenced yard. He has lived with other dogs and cats but he will require patience integrating with other dogs (feeding, playing, attention, etc) to give him time to know his new pack. He is in a foster home in Colorado Springs and already neutered so we expect him to be available soon. Check back for updates!

Almondine – Just Rescued

Twelve year young Almondine who spent her life having puppies was recently rescued with her son, Edgar. This momma has never known the comforts of a home, soft bed or love. She is in a foster home in Edmond, OK where she will learn about being a house dog. Check back for updates!

Luna and Bowie – Just Rescued

Luna (6) and Bowie (8.5) were surrendered by their family in Utah because they are moving abroad and couldn’t take them. They love people and have lived with kids, have never lived with cats. Check back for updates!
