Sweet Sally is an affectionate ES that is almost 2 years old. She made her way to SWESR because she doesn’t have the prey drive to hunt and would rather be a princess. She’s medium/low energy level for a field ES. She’s good with cats and medium/larger dogs with similar temperaments to an ES. Sally is in a foster home in the Dallas area.

From Foster to Forever

Luna

Barbara Woof-Woof Interviews SWESR Luna, Field Setter, who is looking for her forever home.

BWW: Luna, thanks for sitting down with us today so your public can get to know you better. You sit so beautifully!

Luna: Thank you, Barbara, yes, I do very well with Sit and Stay commands. I’m also house-trained and am not a picky eater.

BWW: You do look slightly … Rubenesque.

Luna:  I am a full-figured, 6-year-old female. I celebrate my curves, but if my veterinarian really thinks I should become more svelte, I’m happy to go on long walks or run around a backyard to get my exercise. I also adore my plush toys, and it’s such fun when I discover one of them has a squeaker!

Available Dogs

Bizzie

Bizzie is 8 years young and 42 lbs. She was rescued from a hunting ranch in TX. She didn’t acknowledge her name and she is one of the most active middle-aged ES girls her foster Mom has fostered, thus the name Bizzie. She’s pretty good with other dogs, but on her terms and space. She likes to sniff one cat and gives the other cat that is dominant with dogs the respect she demands. She’s affectionate with people and melts into you for hugs. She’ll need very secure fencing (4 foot probably ok) and a Setter interesting medium or large yard.

Storytellers

Tai and Syma

Leo and Betsy have always had dogs. Betsy works in a veterinary hospital in an animal shelter, so it is no surprise that their pack consists entirely of rescued dogs. They have fostered numerous pups, including labradors going through heartworm treatment, as well as American Bulldogs. Their introduction to English Setters came when they agreed to foster a spaniel “just for a week”. The week turned into three years, and that “spaniel” was their first English Setter, a Llewellin named Taliesin (Talley, for short). They fell in love with the breed, and when Talley crossed the Rainbow Bridge Leo and Betsy discovered SWESR when looking for the next member of their family.

Adopted Dogs

Sky
