Silky is a petite, 1 year old English Setter who is thriving in foster care enjoying the comforts of living indoors and being part of a family. She is already potty-trained, crate-trained and doggy-door trained. Silky is very active and her favorite ways to spend the day are chasing a ball, playing with a favorite toy or playing with other dogs.
Silky is still basically a puppy and requires supervision and puppy-proofing. She is still learning the difference between dog toys and other objects such as shoes and pillows. She would benefit from additional crate-training when she is left alone so that she doesn’t get into any mischief. Silky needs another friendly dog in the home to play with. A securely fenced yard will be a must for Silky so she can get all of the exercise she requires safely.
Silky is sweet and affectionate. She is a happy dog who just wants to have some fun! She has not lived with cats and cannot be assumed safe with them. Silky is looking for a family with lots of time to play with her and is also willing to teach her basic obedience. She walks well on a leash but would benefit from more practice. No children under the age of 7 please.
Silky is spayed, up to date on vaccines and tests, microchipped, and on heartworm preventative. She is in a foster home near Austin, TX.
SWESR would like to thank Susan W, Mary B, and Susan K for their generous donations towards Silky’s medical care.
